Tailoring for Women Empowerment
WAKITAKA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT GROUP
The program purposely is empowering the youth in entrepreneurship skills through organized trainings in fashion, design and sewing and facilitate easy access to loans from the group revolving fund.The credit facility was introduced as a core to enable the youth save and access credit to buy own sewing machines after acquiring the skills. By supporting the youth through a revolving fund, the youth have been able to start up own businesses having empowered them through trainings in business management. The income generating activities created by the youth have continued to make the youth self sustaining reducing the need to look for jobs. This has in turn averted the likely consequences of unemployment. Objectives 1.Enhance entrepreneurial skills and tailoring skills 2.Increase production and marketing of high quality garments 3. Empowerment of the Youth to conduct more profitable marketing of garments
